Democrat Point, or Demo as it is known by the locals, is the western end of Fire Island and is a part of Robert Moses State Park (RM). This website compiles information that might be useful to those who windsurf and/or kitesurf Demo. Charted hydrography from the entrance buoy to Democrat Pont is from surveys dated December 2006. CAUTION: Mariners are warned to beware of extreme tidal turbulence, especally during tmes of tidal change.
